Ministry is the lifetime passion project of founder Al Jourgensen and a pioneer of industrial music. The band first started performing in the early 1980s, making use of the heavy synth-pop sounds popular at the time. As the band matured, so did its music, with Ministry developing the harsher, more stylized sound it is most known for today. Ministry achieved mainstream success with the release of its 1992 album “Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs,” earning the band its first of six Grammy nominations.
After a five-year hiatus, Al and the other band members reunited in 2018 to release new music with lyrics focused on the state of American society. They are currently touring with their 15th studio album “Moral Hygiene.”
